Have you always wondered about that painting, vase, or quilt that was handed down to you, discovered in an attic, or bought at a yard sale? Bring that piece of art or decorative art to the Barn on Friday, Nov. 10 from 9am to noon. This includes: Paintings and Prints; Pottery and Porcelain; Glass; Folk Art; Furniture (if small enough to bring in, that's ideal but if you bring several pictures we'd be happy to look at that too); Quilts; Silver; Watches and Jewelry (new this year).
Four professionals from Cowan’s Auction House will be on hand in the Gallery, in this “roadshow” style event to evaluate the items, briefly explaining what they're looking for and how they determine the value. They'll then give you an estimate of how much they would expect it to sell for at auction if it were put up for sale today*.
Fee for evaluation is $25; register online for your time slot at thebarn.cincyregister.com/cowan. Four “stations” will be set up, each evaluating three to four pieces per half-hour time slot. Limit one item per person – make sure it is small enough to carry and hold comfortably. You don’t need to bring an item for evaluation to attend - come and watch the excitement for free! This event benefits the WACC Foundation, which operates The Barn.
*All evaluations are estimates and not official appraisals. They cannot be used for insurance, estate, tax, or other legal purposes.
